Donald Glover agrees Amazon deal

Amazon Studios has struck a multi-year overall deal with US actor, writer and producer Donald Glover.

According to sources close to The Hollywood Reporter, Glover (Atlanta, Community), has ended his pact with Disney-owned FX to agree an eight-figure overall deal with Amazon.

Under the deal, Malia Obama, daughter of former US president Barack Obama, has joined the writing staff for one of Glover’s first projects. Called Hive, the show is about a Beyonce-like figure.

Glover will also get his own Amazon Prime Video channel that spotlights his work and other curated content.

In addition, Amazon has signed an overall deal with Stephen Glover, who wrote and produced on Atlanta alongside his brother.
