A+E Networks is rejigging its senior management, with Mary Donahue switching from Lifetime to History to work on development and programming.

Mary Donahue

Donahue, who was senior VP of unscripted development and programming at Lifetime, will become senior VP of development and programming at History. She will report to former Lifetime colleague Eli Lehrer, who is now History’s exec VP.

Her remit will include overseeing production for the network’s current non-fiction programming, working alongside senior VP of scripted Arturo Interian and development exec Dolores Gavin.

The latter’s remit has also been expanded to include oversight of all non-fiction development at History as senior executive for development and programming. Gavin joined History in September 2016 in what was then a newly created role as senior executive for development and production, to lead a dedicated team focused on executing original non-fiction franchises and formats.

Donahue had been with Lifetime for four years, having previously worked at History as VP of development and production between 2008 and 2013. Prior to that, she worked for firms including Discovery Channel and NBC.

Lehrer described Donahue as “an award-winning producer with great programming instincts and a proven track record.”
