Dolly Parton doc set for BBC

Dolly’s Country comes from Man Alive Entertainment

UK pubcaster the BBC has commissioned a feature-length documentary about country music legend Dolly Parton.

Dolly’s Country (working title) will air on BBC2 during a season of programming dedicated to country music.

Promising unprecedented access, the show will see musicians, co-writers and producers who have worked with Parton talking about her on film for the first time, exploring why she is seen as one of the greatest songwriters of modern times.

In addition, Parton will take viewers through some of her greatest songs, including The Bridge, I Will Always Love You and 9 To 5, revealing how they fit into her 50-year career.

Dolly’s Country is a Man Alive Entertainment production and the producer and director is Francis Whately. The exec producers are Justin Gorman, Dan McGaughey and Hannah Dodson, with Phil Dolling exec producing for the BBC.
