Disney XD renews Star Wars: Resistance

Lucasfilm Animation veteran Dave Filoni’s Star Wars: Resistance

Disney XD has ordered a second season of animated series Star Wars: Resistance.

The series follows a young pilot recruited by the Resistance for a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order.

It was created by Lucasfilm Animation veteran Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels).

Its executive producers are Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Justin Ridge (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) and Brandon Auman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Amy Beth Christenson (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) is art director.

Season one of the show made its debut last year and will return later this year on Disney XD.

The voice cast includes Christopher Sean (Days of Our Lives), Suzie McGrath (EastEnders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) and Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones).
