Disney+ unveils Star line-up

Star will offer all episodes of series including Desperate Housewives

Global streaming service Disney+ has revealed the initial shows that will form the line-up of its Star brand when it launches in Europe on February 23.

Star will be part of the Disney+ package, offering more adult drama series and comedies than are currently available on the service.

It has been billed as an international version of Disney-owned US streamer Hulu and draws content from ABC, Freeform, FX, 20th Century Studios, 20th Television and Touchstone.

Disney in the UK revealed this morning that the line-up will include all episodes of series such as 24, Lost, Desperate Housewives, The X-Files and How I Met Your Mother.

Atlanta, Prison Break and Black-ish are also included, along with the back-catalogue of Die Hard movies. ABC crime series Big Sky and Hulu high school drama Love, Victor will be available in Europe for the first time billed as Star Originals.

The additions will see the subscription price of Disney+ increasing, from £5.99 (US$8.20) a month to £7.99 in the UK, although existing subscribers will maintain the lower rate until August 23.
