Disney stands up for Unsittables

Disney Channel in the US has given a straight-to-series order to a comedy series based on a novel by Elise Allen and Daryle Conners.

Gabby Duran and the Unsittables is produced by Gabby Productions, a subsidiary of Omnifilm Entertainment.

Showrunners and writers Mike Alber and Gabe Snyder serve as executive producers alongside Joe Nussbaum. Nzingha Stewart will direct the first episode.

The series stars 12-year-old newcomer Kylie Cantrall as a girl who takes on the challenge of babysitting an unruly group of extra-terrestrial children.

Production has begun in Vancouver and the show will launch in 2019.
