Back2Back’s Body Cam Cops

Discovery Networks International has greenlit a six-part series from UK indie Back2Back that uses real-life footage filmed on cameras attached to police officers around the world.

Body Cam Cops (6×60’) will premiere early in 2018 on Discovery’s free-to-air Quest channel in the UK, DMAX in Germany and Discovery Channel across CEEMEA and Latin America.

The producer has secured access to footage taken directly from officers’ body cams, with videos capturing crimes being committed in the US, Australia, the UK and elsewhere in Europe.

TV financing and coproduction specialist Drive secured Discovery’s investment in the series and will be distributing it internationally, starting with pre-sales at MipTV in Cannes next month.

The commission takes the number of hours being produced by Brighton-based indie Back2Back to 52 already in 2017. Back2Back’s David Notman-Watt and Drive’s Ben Barrett are the executive producers.
