Discovery remakes Sky’s Mammy

US broadcaster Discovery is making a local version of UK series 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy for its new channel Discovery Life.

The Sky format, which stars Baz and Nancy Ashmawy, is currently in development for the channel, which launched in January following the rebranding of Discovery Fit & Health.

The first season, which is produced by Burning Bright Productions and Brown Bread Films, has been acquired by broadcasters in more than 100 territories, including several format sales.

It is set to be remade in France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and across Scandinavia after Sky Vision closed a number of option deals.

Meanwhile, Sky1 in the UK has also ordered a second 6×60’ run of the show, which sees the duo take on a fresh set of extraordinary adventures. The show was recommissioned by Sky1 director Adam MacDonald.
