Discovery producer joins Woodcut

UK factual indie Woodcut Media has appointed an executive producer from Discovery Networks International (DNI).

Adam Jacobs

Adam Jacobs has joined the company’s London office, reporting to Woodcut Media CEO Kate Beal, effective immediately.

Jacobs will work on the company’s development slate and commissioned projects alongside Beal and creative director Derren Lawford. He will also play a key role in developing a slate of male-skewing factual content.

At DNI, Jacobs was executive producer in production and development for factual. Prior to that, he was director of factual programming for UK and Western Europe, having joined as programming co-ordinator in 2006.

He has executive produced shows including The Somme: The First 24 Hours and The Great Shark Chase.

Beal said: “We have known Adam for a good few years since our first collaboration on Woodcut’s The Krays: The Prison Years, which he executive produced. He is a highly rated industry executive with a stellar track record, and we are confident his contribution to our company’s continued expansion will speak for itself.”

Jacobs added: “I am thrilled to be joining the ambitious team at Woodcut Media. Having collaborated with Kate in the past and built a strong relationship, I am now looking forward to working with her in developing an exciting new slate of ideas for the company.”
