Discovery Kids adopts 44 Cats

44 Cats comes from the company behind Winx Club

Discovery Kids in Latin America has acquired animated preschool show 44 Cats from Italian studio Rainbow and is set to launch it next year.

The 52×13′ series follows four homeless kittens, part of a music band called The Buffycats, who shelter in a garage and turn it into a place where all the cats in the neighbourhood can get together and have fun.

The network will air the show across Latin America following its first deal with producer/distributor Rainbow, best known as the firm behind animated hit Winx Club.

44 Cats is produced by Canadian animation outfit Bardel Entertainment, which was acquired by Rainbow in 2015 and recently named a new CEO.
