DirecTV crosses final Bridge

Latin American pay TV operator DirecTV has acquired the fourth and final season of Scandinavian crime thriller The Bridge.

The pay TV platform previously aired the first three seasons of the show on entertainment channel OnDirecTV.

The Bridge is a Scandinavian coproduction between Endemol Shine Group’s Filmlance International in Sweden and Nimbus Film in Denmark. ZDF Enterprises is the international distributor.

The Swedish- and Danish-language drama has been adapted in six territories, including in the US by FX. The Anglo-French version, The Tunnel, was ordered by Sky in the UK and Canal+ in France. The show was originally written by Hans Rosenfeldt and Camilla Ahlgren.

DirecTV previously aired hit Scandinavian series The Killing, also acquired from ZDF. The fourth season of The Bridge has been sold into more than 140 countries.
