Diagonal TV ups Frades to director

Jordi Frades

Endemol Shine-owned Spanish prodco Diagonal TV has promoted Jordi Frades to director, replacing the outgoing Montse García.

Frades, previously creative producer and content director, will continue to work on TV series and feature-length projects for domestic and international consumption. García is leaving to join Atresmedia TV.

Frades has directed a number of successful projects including feature film La Corona Partida and TV series El Nudo and Matadero, alongside period dramas La Señora Isabel and La Catedral del Mar.

Jaume Banacolocha, CEO of Diagonal TV, said: “Adding Frades’ successful track record as creator and director of fiction series to the company’s management team, we reinforce our commitment to the national and international creativity of Diagonal TV, where we are already working on coproduction projects with other territories.

“At the same time, my gratitude goes to Montse Garcia who is taking a new step in her career outside the company and we wish her all the success she deserves.”

Diagonal TV series currently on air include El Nudo on Atresplayer Premium, drama series Mercado Central on TVE and Amar Es Para Siempre on Antena 3.
