BBC, Shaw Rocket Fund, WildBrain and Animation UK join speaker line-up for Kids Content Summit @ Content Europe as event strikes a chord with children’s entertainment community

The BBC’s Sarah Muller, Agnes Augustin of the Shaw Rocket Fund, WildBrain’s Kate Smith and Animation UK’s Kate O’Connor are the latest speakers to join the Kids Content Summit @ Content Europe.

They will be joined by a raft of other leading buyers, executives and creators in the kids space across the conference and market.

The Kids Content Summit will include a kids marketplace pavilion and a conference track that will showcase leading voices in kids content, covering sessions on industry trends, commissioning priorities, creator-led storytelling, digital-first and shortform strategies and how AI is helping shape the future of children’s content.

Sarah Muller

Muller is responsible for content decisions across multiple genres for young audiences, including drama, animation, factual and entertainment.
Previously, she was VP of children’s and youth programming at Sony Pictures Television, with responsibility for the Pop and Sony Music Channels. Before that, she was head of children’s at Channel 5, where she was responsible for the Milkshake! brand.
Muller was also creative director, scripted, animation and coproductions, for CBBC In-House, a role that grew from her work as head of CBBC acquisitions, animation and drama development. Prior to joining BBC Children’s, she was MD of Elephant Productions.

Agnes Augustin
President and CEO
Shaw Rocket Fund
Augustin is president and CEO of the Shaw Rocket Fund, Canada’s only independent fund dedicated to financing and advancing Canadian children’s and youth content.
A respected industry leader and advocate, she works with creators, broadcasters and policymakers to ensure children and youth of Canada see themselves reflected across platforms and experiences.
Augustin is actively involved in cultural policy and CRTC proceedings, championing sustainable funding, discoverability and innovation for children’s media. She spearheads research and initiatives that shape the future of kids’ content.
Augustin has a rich background in media funding, governance and strategic leadership, and is widely recognised for her commitment to Canada’s children’s media sector.

Kate Smith
Executive VP, audience engagement
WildBrain
Smith is a media executive with over 20 years’ experience in the strategic distribution and marketing of entertainment content for major players in film, TV, digital and kids’ industries.
She oversees WildBrain’s audience engagement teams responsible for delivering content and engaging fans worldwide, wherever they’re watching, with holistic distribution strategies in today’s omni-platform landscape. This includes the company’s global content sales, its FAST and AVoD business, its world-leading YouTube network, its Media Solutions ad sales team and its digital marketing channels.
Smith brings a valuable understanding of how the intersection between content distribution and digital marketing can supercharge brand awareness and engagement, having previously served for eight years as a key member of the management team behind the company’s YouTube business.

Kate O’Connor
Executive chair
Animation UK
O’Connor is both a spokesperson for the animation sector and a senior consultant in the creative industries, collaborating with private and public-sector clients throughout the UK, Ireland and internationally.
In her consultancy practice, O’Connor delivers strategic insights to leading UK and international clients, based on comprehensive expertise in skills, training, strategy and policy related to the screen industries’ growth plans. As the executive chair of Animation UK, formally established in 2017, O’Connor represents the sector at the governmental level and formulates business, export and employment-related policies to bolster the industry’s growth. This position means she is involved in international policy and the analysis of global fiscal and wider developments.

Content Europe is a cost-effective three-day market, conference and screenings taking place in Lisbon from April 21-23, 2026. The event is designed as a sales and acquisitions market, connecting buyers and sellers around formats, factual, drama and kids.

It includes a three-track conference programme: the Future Formats Forum, the Content Acquisitions Summit and the Kids Content Summit. Each of these tracks will be focused on uncovering content trends, buyer priorities, and sales and coproduction opportunities across channels and platforms worldwide.
