Debmar, Pilgrim prep Sean Spicer talkshow

Lionsgate-owned producer and distributor Debmar-Mercury (DM) is developing a talkshow with one of US president Donald Trump’s former political aides.

Sean Spicer’s Common Ground will be hosted by the former White House press secretary who will interview public figures.

DM is currently preparing the pilot, which will be coproduced with Pilgrim Media and shot next month. No network is yet attached to the project.

The New York Times first reported the news and included details of the show from a pitch sheet that said Spicer would host “some of the most interesting and thoughtful public figures for a drink and some lite conversation at a local pub or cafe.”

Spicer earned a controversial reputation during his five months at the White House following Trump’s inauguration in 2017.
