DCD details doc pick-ups, Mipcom slate

Australia’s Foxtel and Prima Group in the Czech Republic are among broadcasters to have acquired factual content from DCD Rights as the UK-based distributor unveils its Mipcom slate.

The Nile: 5,000 Years Of History

Foxtel and Prime have both picked up doc series Secret Nazi Bases (6×60’), originally produced by Go Button Media for UKTV, Discovery Science in the US and Discovery in EMEA. A&E in CEE and Scandinavia, ProSiebenSat.1 in German-speaking territories and Discovery Communications in Spain are among the other buyers.

Meanwhile, SBS Australia, Viasat World in CEE and Scandinavia and Russia, Dazzler Media across the UK and Ireland and New Zealand’s Choice TV are among buyers to have acquired The Nile: 5,000 Years Of History (4×60’).

Additionally, DCD Rights has revealed its Mipcom slate, which includes The Redemption Project (8×60’), a series that sees victims and surviving family members of a crime come face-to-face with their offender in hopes of seeking closure or obtaining answers. Made by Citizen Jones Productions for CNN, it has already sold to Mediwan Thematics for French-speaking territories in Europe, and Foxtel in Australia and New Zealand.

Haunted Encounters (10×60’) sees celebrities share their encounters with the paranormal, from haunted houses to UFO sightings. The show is produced by Jarrett Creative for the Travel Channel.

Historian James Holland’s documentary Secrets Of The Nazi War Machine (4×60’) investigates Germany’s four main areas of warfare during WWII, namely air, land, sea, and weaponry. Tern TV produced the series for the UK’s More 4.
