Dancing with the Stars struts into Myanmar

Dancing with the Stars has been sold into 57 countries

A Myanmar-based broadcasting and production company has picked up local rights to BBC Studios’ celebrity dance format Dancing with the Stars.

Forever Group will produce the show for free-to-air terrestrial network Myanmar Radio and Television 4 (MRTV-4), with a 15-episode series premiering this October.

Dancing with the Stars started as Strictly Come Dancing on BBC1 in the UK and sees celebrities partner professional dancers to compete in a weekly dance competition.

The Forever Group deal means the format has now been sold into 57 countries worldwide. In Asia, it has previously been sold to China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. To date, more than 3,500 episodes and 300 series have been recorded around the world.
