CW returns to Roswell, In the Dark

Roswell, New Mexico

US network The CW has renewed four of its primetime series for the 2019/20 season, including its reboot of sci-fi drama Roswell.

Produced by Warner Bros TV and CBS TV Studios in association with Amblin Television and Bender Brown Productions, Roswell New Mexico has been handed a second season.

Other shows to get a second run include crime thriller In the Dark, from Warner Bros TV and CBS TV Studios alongside Red Hour Films, and All American, again from parent studio Warner Bros TV and CBS TV Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions.

The series follows the story of a talented school football player from a rough neighbourhood who is recruited to play for the exclusive Beverly Hills High.

With the returns of supernatural dramas Charmed and Legacies already confirmed, the latest orders mean all five of The CW’s new series that premiered this season have been renewed.

In total, the network has renewed 14 of its existing series, with an eighth season of Arrow, a fifth run of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and a third season of Dynasty all on the way. In addition, The 100 has been extended into a seventh season.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz said: “One of our key long-term goals has been to continually add more original programming all year round, especially in mid-season and summer. With these returning shows and the new series we’ll order as we get closer to the May Upfront, next season on The CW is shaping up to be our most robust year-round schedule yet.”
