CPL, Audible team for audio drama

Red Arrow Studios-owned UK prodco CPL Productions and Amazon-owned audiobook specialist Audible are collaborating on an original audio drama series.

High Strangeness, an eight-episode paranormal comedy drama, will premiere on Audible in the US and the UK on October 8. The voice cast is led by Sophie McShera (Downton Abbey, Disney’s Cinderella) and Glen Hedley (Doctor Foster, I May Destroy You).

Written and created by Bafta- and Emmy-winning writer Will Maclean (Tracey Breaks the News), developed and produced by Arabella McGuigan (Brief Encounters, Hounslow Diaries) and directed by Paul Murphy (Cuckoo, Redback, Home From Home), the Audible-commissioned series marks the first scripted audio show for the international market from CPL.

The audio series is executive produced for CPL by Maclean, McGuigan, Danielle Lux and Terence Gray, with Mike Charzuk, Will Rogers, Jim Colgan and Isabella Kulkarni exec producing for Audible.
