Corus takes Pikwik to Treehouse

Pikwik from Guru Studio has already been picked up by Disney Junior

Corus Entertainment in Canada has picked up preschool series Pikwik from local animation producer Guru Studio.

The Toronto-based prodco started work on the animated series last August and has already secured a deal for US broadcast with Disney Junior.

Corus has now picked up the series for its Treehouse kids network and will premiere it in early 2020 to coincide with the US launch.

The show is aimed at kids aged 2-5 and follows Suki the hedgehog, Axel the racoon, Hazel the cat, and Tibor the hippo as they work together to deliver surprise-filled parcels to the colourful residents of Pikwik.

The 52×11’s series aims to underscore the social value of teamwork, responsibility, and critical thinking.

Pikwik was created by Guru Studio’s president and executive creative director Frank Falcone and VP of creative development Rachel Reade Marcus.

The series is also slated to air on Disney Junior Australia/New Zealand, Korea and India.
