Conviction’s Friedman signs with Sony

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has agreed a multi-year overall deal with Conviction co-creator Liz Friedman.

The deal will see Friedman work as an executive producer on SPT’s drama The Good Doctor, which is based on the Korean format of the same name aired by US broadcast network ABC.

Friedman, who also worked on the pilot for Netflix comedy-drama Orange Is The New Black, will also develop SPT projects for broadcast, cable and streaming services.

Legal drama Conviction aired for one season on ABC in 2016.
