Connext swaps Ghent for Antwerp in 2020

This year’s Connext has presented 51 productions

CONNEXT: Connext, the event dedicated to film and TV drama made in Flanders, will move to Antwerp for its fifth edition in 2020.

A record 300 participants from Belgium and abroad are currently attending this year’s event in Ghent, which comes to an end tomorrow.

Since its first edition in 2016, Connext has steadily grown in importance for the Flemish audiovisual sector, with Flemish content and talent put on the international film and television industry’s radar from an early stage.

This year, a total of 51 productions – spanning feature films, feature-length documentaries and TV series – were presented in various stages of production, from projects in development to works in progress and recently finished productions.

New TV projects were pitched by companies such as Panenka, Eyeworks and De Mensen. Previous editions have seen TV series such as Tabula Rasa, Studio Tarara and Undercover, which is available on Netflix, presented at Connext.

The three-day programme features presentations and screenings of Flemish films and series, meetings with directors and producers and networking opportunities with the Flemish audiovisual industry, alongside conference sessions.

Connext is an initiative of Flanders Image, a division of the Flanders Audiovisual Fund, in association with Screen Flanders.

It is in collaboration with Sabam for Culture, Creative Europe Mediadesk Vlaanderen, Screen Brussels, Lites, Flow, Omnia Travel, Pillows and Film Fest Gent. The media partners are C21, Le Film Français and Screen International.
