More drama commissioners join Content London

NRK, YLE, ZDF, Atresmedia and TV4 are the latest broadcasters to join the drama commissioners strand at Content London, the world’s leading development marketplace and conference.

This year’s Content London is set to host the global drama community, and also launch a three-day Formats & Factual strand alongside the scripted sessions.

Marianne Furevold-Boland, head of drama, NRK
Furevold-Boland has for the last four years worked as an executive producer at NRK Drama overseeing series such as Exit, State of Happiness, For life and I am Earth. Furevold-Boland was the producer of the web-drama series Skam and oversaw the various Skam re-makes being produced in more than eight countries around the world.
Furevold-Boland has worked in NRK for many years and has been working on various projects as a producer, script doctor, writer, journalist, and presenter, both in television and radio.
She also gives workshops in insight work as a tool for developing scripts, and the production method on shortforms. Furevold-Boland is educated as an actor from LIPA, Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in UK.

Jarmo Lampela, head of drama, YLE
Lampela has been the head of drama at YLE since 2015. He graduated from ELO, Finnish Film School in 1992 and has worked as director, scriptwriter and producer with numerous productions for cinema, television and theatre. Lampela worked as the professor of Film Directing and head of the department of Film, Television and Scenography at Aalto University, Helsinki (2007-2014).

Dr. Simone Emmelius, SVP international fiction, coproduction and acquisition, ZDF
Emmelius is responsible for the ZDF company with its entities ZDF main channel, ZDFneo (entertainment channel for a younger target audience 25-50 years), 3sat (cultural channel, target audience German speaking territories), arte (cultural channel, target audience Germany and France), and funk (nonlinear program offer, target audience 14-29 years). Until May 2018, she was SVP ZDFneo, responsible for one of the top 10 channels in Germany, basically focused on drama, crime, and comedy series, feature films and entertainment programs (e.g. neoMagazin Royale / Jan Böhmermann). From 1987 to 2009, Emmelius was in charge in various functions for the strategic development of the upcoming digital market activities of ZDF, setting up digital channels and initial interactive programs. After her studies of literature, economy and film in Mainz and Konstanz (degrees: M.A. and Dr. phil.) accompanied by several freelance contracts for ZDF, SWR, Südkurier and FAZ, she started her career in ZDF as a trainee, and later on as an editor in the social affairs department.

Diego Del Pozo Rosa, manager of fiction content, Atresmedia Televisión
Since 2011 Del Pozo Rosa has been working at Atresmedia Televisión, where he currently holds the position of manager of fiction content, overseeing the search, launch and development of the original fictions of Series Atresmedia, mainly for ATRESplayer Premium, the group’s SVOD platform. In addition, he has also developed a teaching work being a professor of several master’s degrees and programs in different universities and audiovisual business schools. He holds a Degree in Business Administration and Management (UC3M, 2011), Master’s Degree in Direction of the Audiovisual Company (UC3M, 2011) and Master’s Degree in Management of the Audiovisual Company (EAE, 2015).

Piodor Gustafsson, director of scripted content, TV4 Media
Gustafsson has more than thirty years’ experience within the film, TV and advertising industry. Since September 2020, he has been working at TV4 Media as director of scripted content for the Nordic territory. Gustafsson has also been running Black Spark Film & TV since March 2016, a film and television company mainly focusing on development and production of local originals. He has recently produced Tigers by Ronnie Sandahl and Lamb featuring Noomi Rapace. Previously Gustafsson produced STHLM Requiem, Moscow Noir, The Wife and The Snowman among other series and films. Before this, he used to work for the Swedish national broadcaster SVT as head of programming and commissioning editor for drama series, culture, feature films and documentaries and was also member of SVT’s board of directors. Examples of programmes commissioned by Piodor are: The Bridge, Real Humans, Anno 1790, The Condemned, Death of a Pilgrim and many more. Previous to SVT Gustafsson was for four years a commissioning feature film consultant at the Swedish Film Institute. He was involved in the films Let The Right One in, The King of Ping Pong, Metropia, In a Better World, The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo, Burrowing, Beyond etc. Recent releases at C More/ TV4 include The Congregation, Likea, Blinded and Hamilton.
