Key Netflix drama and unscripted execs join Content London

Netflix’ European executives Larry Tanz, Daisy Lilley, Dolores Emile and Álvaro Díaz will discuss the platform’s drama and unscripted strategies, and opportunities for partnership, at Content London.

Larry Tanz

Netflix
Tanz is VP of original series for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based out of Amsterdam. Since joining Netflix in 2014, he has worked across commissions, coproductions, and acquisitions, from US, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, including shows such as The Stranger, Bodyguard, El Chapo, Fauda, and Castlevania. Tanz previously served as CEO of Michael Eisner’s digital studio Vuguru (now Tornante Television), CEO of LivePlanet (with founders Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Sean Bailey and Chris Moore), and held senior positions at AOL Time Warner and Mercer Management Consulting. He is a founding board member of Water.org which has helped provide safe water and sanitation to over 20 million people around the world. He received his BA and MA from Harvard University and his MBA from The Warton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Daisy Lilley
Director, unscripted series

Lilley works in Netflix’ unscripted team in London. She joined Netflix in April 2020 and has been working with UK producers to find returnable entertainment formats. She’s part of the team overseeing F1: Drive To Survive, The Circle and Too Hot To Handle as well as other upcoming titles. Prior to Netflix, she was a BAFTA-winning executive producer spending two years at Studio Lambert where she developed and produced The Circle for both Channel 4 and Netflix. She also spent 13 years at ITV Studios working on notable titles such as Love Island, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Hell’s Kitchen and Come Dine With Me.

Dolores Emile
Manager, nonfiction series

Emile joined the Netflix France team in 2020 as manager, nonfiction for France. Previously general manager of Vice Media (TV & studios) for four years, she was in charge of French productions, programming and marketing. She also worked for eight years in the TV division of the NRJ Group, on program acquisitions at the beginning, then as marketing & communications director.

Álvaro Díaz
Director, nonfiction series

Díaz joined Netflix in 2020 as director of nonfiction series for Spain. Previously, Díaz was CEO of Zeppelin since July 2016 and spent almost 20 years linked to the company as director of content, executive producer, programme director and screenwriter. Throughout his career, he developed the role of director and executive producer at the helm of pioneering formats such as Big Brother, Fama ¡a bailar! or Supermodelo and participated in the development of series and innovative programs such as El Puente, claimed by critics and the audience. From Netflix in Spain, Díaz leads the company’s commitment to innovative and diverse entertainment through original formats such as Insiders (with iZen), Guaranteed Love (with Fremantle) or Georgina (with Komodo Studio), as well as promoting Spanish docuseries such as Where is Marta?, directed by Paula Cons or 800 Meters, directed by Elías León Siminiani.
