C21 Drama Series Script Competition opens for entries

The fifth edition of The C21 Drama Series Script Competition (#C21scriptcomp) is now open for entries, aiming to uncover the Next Big Thing in scripted entertainment.

The competition is produced in association with Studio21, WritersRoom and Script Angel.

We are looking for six outstanding pilot episode scripts (for an internationally compelling drama series) to compete for an unrivalled prize at The International Drama Summit, part of Content London in November.

From the pool of submissions made between 10 July 2019 and 4 October 2019, a shortlist of 21 scripts will be selected and six finalists will be chosen to present their script to the global drama business, including key commissioners from digital platforms including Amazon, Netflix and Hulu, to broadcasters from ABC, BBC and C4 to YLE, and ZDF, attending Content London. Shortlisted entries will be notified on 30 September 2019 and the finalists will be announced on 23 October 2019.

In addition to the live pitch final, each finalist will also see their script distributed to 2500 delegates attending the event and have the opportunity to connect with key executives in the drama business through Content London’s Content Concierge service. Each finalist receives a complimentary pass to the three-day event worth £899.

Each finalist will also be eligible to choose to engage with WritersRoom's initiative to develop the project further during Content London.

The winning writer will receive a US$10,000 script option from Studio21 and be developed for series.

Each finalist will also receive a free consultancy session from Script Angel.

There is a £40 fee to enter, which is used to pay a team of professional script readers.
