Kyle MacLachlan/Sofia Helin talk Atlantic Crossing

Twin Peaks meets The Bridge as Kyle MacLachlan and Sofia Helin both arrive at Content London to talk about the new eight-hour series, Atlantic Crossing from director Alexander Eik, produced by Cinenord for NRK; with Beta Film handling world sales.

Inspired by true events, Atlantic Crossing is the story of Norwegian crown princess Märtha, who fights to save her country – and her marriage – offering a unique and never-before-seen perspective on the tragic events of World War II. Märtha is a heroine who rose from her obligations of a caring princess and loving mother to an influential figure in world politics, a popular icon with an important influence on president Roosevelt's decision to enter the war, which was decisive for the victory of democracy over fascism. Her close relationship to FDR will take center stage in the series.

Kyle MacLachlan said: "To play one of the great American presidents – one of the great leaders of the 20th century - is a dream come true. He refused to be defined by his physical challenges and truly changed the way the American government reacts and responds to its people. He was extraordinary at a time when that’s what was needed."

Sofia Helin added: “This is an amazing but untold story about a woman who made a difference. So far, there has been no place for the female perspective in stories told about the Second World War. Now it’s about time these stories are being told.”
“Coming from an average family, for me it is an interesting study to learn royal etiquette and how the upper class behaves.”

They will be live in The Hanson Hall at St. Pancras Hotel from 3.50pm to talk about the show.
