Complex picks production VP

Verizon- and Hearst-owned digital media company Complex Networks has appointed a VP of production.

David Weinstein will oversee production at Complex’s editorial, studio and post-production operations, talent relations department and brand partnership studio.

He joins from digital marketing agency iCrossing, where he managed top-tier campaigns for clients including Bayer, Microsoft and L’Oreal as head of production.

Prior to iCrossing, he was head of production at Laundry Service and partner and executive producer at East Pleasant, both US production companies.

He will report to Justin Killion, executive VP, development, production, distribution for Complex Networks, and work across brands such as Complex, ComplexCon, First We Feast, Pigeons & Planes and Sole Collector, available on platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.

The firm has also appointed Katina Lee, formerly of One X, Alloy Media & Marketing, Vibe and Essence, as head of branded content, and Jonathan Hunt as executive VP of marketing and audience development.

Hunt was previously the senior VP of digital strategy and audience development for National Geographic Partners, where he led the company’s digital growth strategy across platforms.

Lee will report to chief revenue officer Edgar Hernandez and Hunt will report to Christian Baesler, president of Complex Networks.

“Complex Networks has become a global leader in youth culture that spans the web, social, digital video, linear, OTT, events and commerce,” said Baesler.
