Comedy Central plugs into Xbox

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has launched an app to allow Xbox 360 users to watch its Comedy Central stand-up content.

CC: Stand-Up gives customers on-demand access to over 6,000 videos from 700 comedians including Aziz Ansari (Parks & Recreation) and Hannibal Burres (30 Rock).

The app can be downloaded by Xbox customers with a Live Gold subscription, which costs US$5 per month. Content can be navigated using the console’s controller, Xbox SmartGlass on mobile devices and the Kinect voice and motion sensor.

Its launch follows the arrival of online VoD service CC: Stand-up Direct earlier this month, which allows customers to watch a library of uncut, uncensored Comedy Central stand-up on a pay-as-you-go basis at US$5 a time.

Viacom has already launched an app to allow iPhone and iPad users access to Comedy Central stand-up content.
