Comedy Central Asia stands up again

The second season of Comedy Central Stand-Up, Asia! was a big hit

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Asia has renewed original comedy series Comedy Central Stand-Up, Asia! for a third season.

The 10×30’ series, which airs on VIMN’s Comedy Central Asia network, will showcase 14 of the leading Asian comedians performing stand-up routines.

It follows on from the success of last August’s season two, which delivered a ratings boost of 128% on the channel’s average performance among 18- to 34-year-olds.

“This highlights how Asia originals have strong appeal with our audiences and underscores how investing in local content to grow share of viewership has been a right move,” said Paras Sharma, senior VP and general manager, South-East Asia, VIMN.

“We remain committed to promoting Asian comedy by elevating comedians on a regional platform and growing the appreciation of localised comedy for fans around the region to enjoy.”
