Code Black axed by CBS

Code Black

US medical drama Code Black has been cancelled by CBS, marking a late casualty of this year’s Upfronts.

A month after the debut of the third season, showrunner Michael Seitzman announced the news on Thursday via social media:

Seitzman added: “We always suspected this would be the last season. We wrote it to end that way. This season finale was written to be a series finale. You won’t want to miss it.

He added that there will be nine episodes left, airing in the show’s regular Wednesday 22.00 time slot, until the two-hour series finale on the same day of the week from 21.00.

The show – which has undergone numerous cast changes and a decline in ratings since its 2015 debut – is produced by Michael Seitzman’s Pictures, Tiny Pyro Productions, CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios, and distributed by Disney Media Distribution.
