Frederator Studios’ hit Adventure Time

Cartoon Network has announced its popular comedy series Adventure Time will come to an end after its ninth season in 2018.

The show has aired on the Turner-owned children’s channel since 2010 and is produced by Cartoon Network Studios alongside Frederator Studios.

It follows the weird and wonderful adventures of a boy called Finn and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake, a dog with magical shape-shifting powers.

Cartoon Network has produced two virtual reality games based on the property, Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games and I See Ooo, with Californian studio Jaunt.

The cancellation comes shortly after Cartoon Network decided to bring the curtain down on another of its popular comedies, Regular Show, which will end after its eighth season.
