Clooney prodco links with Sony

George Clooney’s Smokehouse Pictures and Sony Pictures Television (SPT) have joined forces to develop and produce new television series.

The two-year pact will see Smokehouse creating comedy and drama shows for broadcast, cable and digital platforms.

The partnership builds on the prodco’s relationship with Sony, after it moved its feature film agreement to the firm in 2009.

Smokehouse, which was formed by Clooney and Grant Heslov (Sleeper Cell, True Lies) in 2006, has previously worked on TNT series Memphis Beat, as well as on feature films including Argo and The Men Who Stare at Goats.
