Clangers land on YouTube Kids app

Stop-motion reboot Clangers launched in 2015

The reboot of classic UK children’s property Clangers is continuing its global expansion with a launch into the US market via the YouTube Kids app.

UK kids’ entertainment firm Coolabi, which owns the rights to the preschool brand, has sealed a deal for the 78×11’ reboot, the first 26 episodes of which will be available on the app from today.

The stop-motion animation features Monty Python star Michael Palin as narrator and returned to British TV screens on CBeebies in 2015.

A third season is currently in in the works, again a coproduction from CBeebies, Coolabi, UK-based Bagpuss producer Smallfilms and BBC Studios.

Focusing on a family of pink mouse-like creatures who live on a little blue planet in outer space, the series first aired on BBC1 in the UK between 1969 and 1974.
