CJ E&M in Russian format first

CJ E&M’s Tunnel has sold around the world

South Korean broadcaster CJ E&M has made its first foray into the Russian format market after a local distributor started developing one of its dramas.

Russian film and TV distributor All Media picked up format rights to CJ E&M drama Signal last year and is now in development on a local remake of the show.

It revolves around a mysterious walkie-talkie found by a criminal profiler who communicates with a detective from the past to solve cold cases.

CJ E&M’s scripted product has been shifting globally over the past few months, with streaming sites including DramaFever and Viki in North America, VIU in South-East Asia and iQiyi in Taiwan all recently acquiring detective drama Tunnel.
