CineGroupe enters a new Dimension

Cameras are rolling on CinéGroupe's Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension (26×30'), a new live-action series that integrates 3D backgrounds and special effects.

The Montreal-based producer is shooting two 13×30' seasons consecutively on location and in studio. The 3D backgrounds and computer-generated images will be created in-house at CinéGroupe's 3D/computer imaging studio.

The series was inspired by the web characters created by Tom Lynch (Caitlin's Way, The Secret World Of Alex Mack, Just Deal), and is set to broadcast in winter 2002 on both YTV in Canada and Fox Kids Network in the US.

It tells a coming-of-age tale about a seemingly normal 15-year-old whose average existence turns upside down when he travels to the Outer Dimension. With his friend at his side, he sets out on a quest that takes him to new worlds inhabited by a host of mystical creatures.

Worldwide distribution is being shared by CinéGroupe and Columbia TriStar International Television, and Fox Kids Network holds rights in the US.
