Cineflix Rights takes Marcella to Mip

UK distributor Cineflix Rights is taking eight-part crime drama Marcella, from the creator of The Bridge, to MipTV next month.

The 8×60’ ITV series stars Anna Friel as a Metropolitan Police detective investigating a serial murder case where the modus operandi of the killer bears a striking resemblance to an unsolved spate of killings from a decade before.

The drama, penned by The Bridge creator Hans Rosenfeldt, is produced by Buccaneer Media, the London-based joint venture between drama producer Tony Wood and Cineflix Rights.

Cineflix’s new factual content at the Cannes market will include Hitler the Junkie (1×60’), from Waddell Media for Channel 4 and National Geographic Channel International, and World’s Best Beaches (6×60’), which hails from Wildbear Entertainment.

Also on the company’s slate is Hell’s Satans (8×30’), from Standard Arts for US network Fusion; the fourth season Brother Vs. Brother (6×60’) from Scott Brothers Entertainment for HGTV US; Pet Medics: New Zealand (10×30’), from Rogue Productions; and Growing Up McGhee (8×30’), which comes from Figure 8 Films for UP Entertainment in the US.
