Cineflix Rights hires ITVSGE exec

UK distributor Cineflix Rights is adding an ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVSGE) exec to its acquisitions team as it aims to load up on third party content.

The company has appointed Kate Laffey director of acquisitions. She joins on February 4 from ITVGSE where she is currently senior acquisitions executive.

The move reunites her with Noel Hedges, Cineflix Rights’ senior VP of acquisitions, who arrived at the firm last year following a brief stint at Shine, prior to which he was ITVSGE senior VP of sales and acquisitions for the Americas.

Laffey, who has been with her present employer for the past seven years, will report to Hedges and will be responsible for acquiring content from third party producers in all territories outside North America.
