Cineflix descends on Impossible Planet

Cineflix has already acquired Blizzard Roads’ Predator Pets

MIPCOM: UK distributor Cineflix Rights has picked up three new factual series, including 4K nature series Impossible Planet, from Australian prodco Blizzard Road Productions.

Cineflix Rights will add the titles to Blizzard Road’s Predator Pets, which it is launching here in Cannes. The deal was brokered by Kate Laffey, VP of acquisitions.

Impossible Planet (12×60’) looks at unusual natural phenomena from around the world.

The deal also covers music series Killer Soundtrack (13×60’) and nature programme Extreme Animal Transport (13×60’).

The former explores the history behind well-known songs inspired by true crimes. Extreme Animal Transport follows the adventures of the people tasked with moving exotic animals over great distances.

Chris Bonney, CEO of Cineflix Rights, said: “We’ve already had positive response from buyers about our first series from them, Predator Pets. I’m certain these new series will be equally successful with broadcasters worldwide.”
