Cineflix commits to Mayhem pact

Mayhem Entertainment factual series The Dog Dudes

UK-based distributor Cineflix Rights has signed a first-look development deal with Canadian prodco Mayhem Entertainment.

Under the pact, Cineflix will take exclusive global distribution rights to Mayhem’s forthcoming programmes such as factual series The Dog Dudes (8×30’), which Cineflix will launch at Mipcom next month.

Vancouver-based Mayhem was founded by producer-director Tyson Hepburn and director Matt Shewchuk and aims to produce both unscripted and scripted shows.

The Dog Dudes follows professional dog trainers Dylan and Darijan Northstar who have mastered the use of ‘pack wisdom’ to correct anxious, aggressive and dominating canines.

Mayhem also produced Rust Valley Restorers (8×60′), which launched earlier this year, for History channel, alongside Canada’s Corus Studios.

Anthony Kimble, senior VP, coproduction and North American acquisitions at Cineflix Rights, brokered the Mayhem deal. He said Mayhem has a proven track record of producing “character-driven shows for international broadcasters.”
