Chinese net allies with Armoza

Chinese broadcaster JiangSu Broadcasting Corporation (JSBC) has chosen Israel’s Armoza Formats to distribute its homegrown musical reality series Celebrity Battle as part of a broader alliance.

The deal marks the first time a format from China has been picked up for international distribution, according to the two companies. The singing competition series will air in China later this year.

Meanwhile, Armoza Formats and JSBC have also struck a deal to collaborate on the development, broadcast and distribution of content.

This deal will see JSBC invest in the development of I Can Do That, a celebrity primetime entertainment show that Armoza distributes.

Zhao Jun, head controller of the programming department at JSBC, said: “Today’s historic signing with Armoza Formats introduces a new phase of collaboration and original content development in the international market for JSBC.”

“As well as Celebrity Battle, we at JSBC are looking forward to a fruitful creative partnership with Armoza Formats in the co-development of new content for the future.”
