China, Oz nets follow Bear into jungle

Broadcasters including Australia’s SBS, Discovery Channel in China and TV3 in Ireland have picked up Bear Grylls: Mission Survive.

The ITV show, sold by Electus International, has also been acquired by Blue Ant Media in Canada, New Zealand’s TVNZ, RTL CBS Asia Entertainment in South-East Asia, Discovery in Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe, and TVB Pearl in Hong Kong.

The six-episode series, which premiered on the UK’s main commercial terrestrial channel in February, is produced by Bear Grylls Ventures, Electus and UK prodco Betty.

It is set in the rainforest of Costa Rica and follows eight celebrities as they compete in a 12-day expedition during which they are tested on the fundamentals of survival.
