Channel 5 takes SPT’s Oath, Bloom for VoD

The Oath was originally made for Sony Crackle

Viacom-owned UK terrestrial network Channel 5 has picked up a pair of drama series from Sony Pictures Television (SPT) to run on VoD service My5.

The Oath and Bloom will both air on My5 later this spring as first-run exclusives in the UK as the platform looks to grow its drama slate.

Mystery series Bloom (6×60’) originally aired on Australian SVoD platform Stan and is produced by Playmaker Media. The show is set in a rural town in Australia, one year after a devastating flood kills five locals.

Crime drama The Oath (10×60’) was created for US streamer Sony Crackle. It follows a criminal gang made up of a band of men and women sworn to uphold the law.

C5’s recent move into drama began in late 2018 with Blood and Agatha & the Truth of Murder. Forthcoming dramas Clink and 15 Days will debut on My5 this spring.
