Viacom-owned UK terrestrial net Channel 5 has commissioned a number of history series for its primetime schedule.
Among the new shows are a trio of productions from London-based Voltage TV: Epidemic: The Great Plague (3×60’), The Tutankhamun Legacy (working title, 3×60’) and Pompeii: What Happened Next (1×90’). Voltage’s Amanda Lyon is exec producing all three programmes.
Also on the slate is a drama/documentary series Henry VIII: Man, Monarch, Monster (3×60’). Executive produced by Bafta winner Emma Hindley, the show is directed by Luke Korzun. Blakeway Productions will produce.
In addition, C5 has ordered a second season of Lion TV’s Inside the Tower of London (8×60’).
