Our Family Farm Rescue (working title, 4×60’) follows family farms as they work to transform into successful new businesses.

Set in four locations around the country, the series will see a group of farmers receive expert advice to improve their businesses. Each will consider what lessons can be learned from the past while also looking for new, innovative ways of creating income.

Production on Our Family Farm Rescue is currently underway, with Rosy Marshall-McCrae exec producing the series.

Craig Hunter, creative director of factual at STV Studios, said: “Farmers have been diversifying for generations, but it would seem there’s even more reason to transform their businesses and change direction now. We’ve been encouraged by the response we’ve had from farms of all different sizes and ages. There’s certainly no end to the list of opportunities available, which should make for a very compelling series.”

In other news C5 has also commissioned an extended third season of the factual entertainment series Secret Scotland (10×60’).

The third installment of the series will see host Susan Calman visit ten new locations.

Secret Scotland is exec produced by Gerard Costello for Banijay-owned IWC and Melanie Darlaston for Motion Content Group. Secret Scotland will be distributed globally by Banijay Rights.
