Channel 5, AMC in VoD partnership

ViacomCBS-owned UK broadcaster Channel 5 has struck a content partnership with AMC Networks International (AMCNI) for its My5 on-demand service.

From today, CBS Reality and Horror Channel, which are part of a joint venture between ViacomCBS and AMCNI UK, will bring 400 additional hours of content to My5 over the next year.

Key titles set to be added include CBS Reality’s original true crime series Murder by the Sea and New Scotland Yard Files, in addition to Horror Channel’s Andromeda and its numerous films, including 100 Bloody Acres and The Drownsman.

Oli Thomas, VP and digital lead at Channel 5, said: “AMCNI UK’s channels are an exciting addition to My5 and a perfect example of how we’re leveraging the wider ViacomCBS content portfolio in the UK. The programming will broaden the scope and scale of My5’s cross-genre entertainment offering, adding further value to the platform for our viewers.”

My5 houses a range of third-party content brands alongside programming from across the C5 portfolio. Existing third-party content partners include Blaze, BET, PBS America, Real Stories, Together TV and Timeline, across genres including history, drama, reality, documentaries and comedy.

In related news, C5 has commissioned a feature doc uncovering the real story behind Princess Diana’s 1995 interview with BBC factual programme Panorama.

UK indie Rogan Productions is working on Diana: The Interview that Shocked the World to premiere October 11 at 21.00. The 1×90’ doc will detail how the interview came to be filmed, its impact at the time and how it went on to help transform the culture of Britain.
