Channel 4 pre-buys land mine special

The UK's Channel 4 has come onboard a new doc about land mines from filmmaker Dennis O'Rouke, being produced in association with ABC (Australia) and funded by the Australian Film Finance Corporation.

With ABC Content Sales picking up international distribution rights outside the UK and the US, the 60' special – entitled Land Mines: A Love Story – looks at the lives of people who have had their lives influenced by landmines, be they disfigured children, mine removal experts, politicians who allow them to be sold…

O'Rourke's recent work, Cunnamulla, which focused on the inhabitants of a small country town, attracted public debate upon its release and won O'Rourke a 2001 Australian Film Institute Award for Best Direction in a Documentary.
