Channel 4: Lygo to go

In the UK, Channel 4’s head of arts and entertainment Kevin Lygo is leaving the station to join the fifth terrestrial, Channel 5, as director of programming.

During Lygo’s three and half-year tenure at Channel 4 he was responsible for introducing some of the broadcaster’s most controversial programming, include Chris Evans’ TFI Friday and The Big Breakfast.

His move to Channel 5 will ease the pressure on Dawn Airey, the station’s founding director of programming, who – after chief executive David Elstein stepped down last October – has combined both roles.
