Channel 4 exec takes Amazing job

Amazing Productions, the outfit belonging to architect, property expert and presenter George Clarke, has hired a Channel 4 commissioning editor as chief creative officer.

Gill Wilson

Gill Wilson is joining the BBC Studios-backed prodco having previously spent seven years at commercially funded UK pubcaster Channel 4 as head of features and daytime.

While there, her department was responsible for titles including The Supervet, Love It or List It, OCD Cleaners and George’s Clarke’s Old House New Home.

For the past year she has been consulting for the network on its work in the UK nations and regions and is due to take up her full-time post with London-based Amazing in June.

Amazing was set up in 2014 by Clarke, MD Rebecca Mulraine, Michael Simkin, Tania Fallon and BBC Studios.

Both Ugly House to Lovely House and Old House to New Home are in their fourth seasons in the 20.00 slot on C4. Amazing has also produced Bang On Budget for C4 daytime and is in production on its first series for ITV, Island Prison.

New commissions include a series for C4, Project Home, and a campaigning series marking the birth of UK state housing, Council House 100.

Amazing’s current affairs arm is led by Simkin and has produced a number of BBC Panorama programmes.
