Channel 4 builds more Grand Designs

UK commercial pubcaster Channel 4 (C4) has renewed its long-running home-building series Grand Designs.

The show, which first aired in 1999, is produced by FremantleMedia-owned Boundless and its latest 7×60’ run was commissioned by Ian Dunkley, factual entertainment commissioning editor at C4.

Grand Designs follows people as they set out to self-build their dream home. The new season will see presenter Kevin McCloud travel to UK locations including Aylesbury Vale, Padstow, Richmond, Lewes, Sheffield and East Devon.

McCloud has also previously fronted C4 series Kevin McCloud: Escape to the Wild (4×60’), in which he profiles people who have ditched the city to live in remote places.
