CBS unscripted boss to exit

CBS Entertainment is looking for a new senior VP of alternative programming after Sharon Vuong’s decision to leave at the end of her contract this week.

Sharon Vuong

Vuong became the unscripted boss at CBS in 2017, having joined the Eye network as a director of alternative in 2011 before rising to become VP of alternative series development.

The exec, who said she was leaving to spend more time with her family, has overseen a slate of unscripted shows at CBS that have included gameshows and reality series such as Big Brother, The Amazing Race, Survivor and Love Island. News of Vuong’s exit was first reported by Deadline.

In an internal memo, CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl said: “Sharon has been an invaluable member of CBS Entertainment, leading the alternative team with creativity, energy and a collaborative, talent-friendly style that our producers have always greatly appreciated.”
