CBS to end Criminal Minds, turns to Evil

The 15th season of CBS’s Criminal Minds will be its last

US broadcaster CBS is bringing the curtain down on its long-running hit drama Criminal Minds and has ordered a pilot for a show from The Good Fight creators Robert and Michelle King.

Criminal Minds has been handed a final 10-part 15th season, which will air during 2019/20 and take the show’s total episode count to 325.

The series is produced by CBS Television and ABC Studios and has become a major hit in syndication and internationally, having also been picked up by Netflix.

It follows detectives who attempt to catch criminals behind horrific crimes before they strike again. Erica Messer is attached as showrunner and exec producer along with Mark Gordon and Breen Frazier, while Jeff Davis created the show, which made its bow in 2005.

Meanwhile, CBS has ordered a pilot for Evil, a drama from Robert and Michelle King about a team made up of a psychologist, a man training to be a priest and a contractor who investigate supernatural events.

It is being produced by CBS Television Studios and the couple’s King Size Productions, with the latter’s president, Liz Glotzer, attached as exec producer.

The Kings co-created The Good Wife for CBS while spin-off The Good Fight, produced for on-demand service CBS All Access, is now in its third season.
